Chose Nordic Inn & Suites based on Tripadvisor ratings. Sometimes I want fancy, sometimes I want basic. Nordic Inn & Suites is basic, but a very nice place! Was not disappointed. Upon entering the motel, I saw that the grounds were clean, tidy and nicely painted. The room itself had been remodeled and was also spotless. Had all the amenities one could ask for – comfortable bed with both memory foam pillows and regular, a small chair to lounge in, LCD tv and Dvd player, a table with chairs for two, and a full kitchen! The bathroom was average size and also remodeled. We had arrived early, as we had taken an early flight, well before the official check-in time. We had wanted to leave our bags, but the manager told us the room was ready and gave us the key! We left our bags, made a quick stop at a local grocery store down the street for fruits and snacks, and went about our sightseeing. We slept very well. The property is on a busy street and near train tracks, but this did not bother us (we were also in the rear of the property.) I found everyone to be very friendly, and – as mentioned before – the motel and room were spotless! Close to airport and freeways, too. I’d definitely return!

Super clean, fully updated motel. It isn’t fancy but it is comfortable and so clean. It must have been built in the 50’s, but the room was all updated and absolutely clean. Bed was comfortable. My room had a stove, refrigerator and microwave but I don’t know if they all do. Good coffee in the morning but no breakfast. Close to airport. My room was at the back of lot and VERY quiet. I complemented the owner in the morning and he told me they had owned it for 21 years and take a lot of care in it, and it shows. Did I mention it was clean?

5 stars for clean, inexpensive, convenience and memory foam pillows!! I mentioned the memory foam pillows right? Nice touch and maybe the only reason the boyfriend will be happy to come back. While this place wasn’t perfect it was prefect for our little last minute 1 night stay getaway. It was easy to get to downtown from this location as well. Check in as well as check out was a breeze.

I love love love this place! Clean and comfortable room w/ refrigerator and microwave. Quiet and not much traffic at night. Also there’s a few food truck that is directly across the street that offers some good tasting food. Hotel doesn’t offer breakfast but they do offer coffee. Also there’s a truck that offers different coffee drinks across the street. Not far from airport. Great cable! Awesome price! Wifi is offered. I would definitely stay here again.

Affordable, clean accommodations. The staff bent over backwards to allow us to check in early when we arrived. Very friendly. Would return here for our next trip to Portland.

We drove in from Idaho for a weekend in Portland and the Nordic Motel was a great location and price. It’s a quaint place, clean, and affordable. We will definitely be booking our next Portland weekend getaway at the Nordic Motel! Thank you to the friendly and informative staff!!

Stayed here for one night and wished it was longer!  Loved that it was family and the owners were super nice!  Got in after 11 and was in my room within 10 minutes.  Room was awesome!  Super comfy bed and pillows, lots of space and full fridge and stove!  Really close to the transit center and got into downtown in 15 minutes on the red line.  Will stay here again in the future!!!

Hands down the best motel I have ever stayed in. The location was no more than fifteen minutes away from shops, places to eat, bars – you name it. The owners were super nice and accommodating. The beds and size of the two rooms in general were impressive. As some of the other reviews say, it really did feel like a home away from home! My sister and I were sad to leave. Definitely plan to stay here again the next time I’m in Portland.

My husband and I went on a road trip from Phoenix, AZ up through California, Oregon, and Washington over the last two weeks. My formula for finding a hotel in the city/town we were looking at stopping in was first price point, then good reviews. We stayed at many hotels, some great, some rather questionable. This was one of our highlights. It’s a small, husband and wife owned motel not too far from downtown Portland. Yes, it is by the airport and a semi-busy train. Did the noise bother us? Surprisingly, it didn’t! It was actually pretty quiet given the location. This hotel is friendly, clean, and has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and even have a dining area. At this price point, it cannot be beat! I mean really, you’re looking at hostels in the same category closer to the city…we’re young…but sharing a bathroom at a hostel is not for us! We fell in love with Portland the two days we were there (tight schedule!). For touristy things, I recommend the Japanese Garden and Rose garden directly across from it in Washington Park. We were lucky enough to attend during the Rose Festival and saw some truly beautiful plants! Parking stinks in the city, we used Uber the entire time. Also, check out the vegan mini-mall and the Bye and Bye (bar) while you’re there! When we come to Portland again, we will be staying here no matter what!

This place was quite the surprise. We only needed one night and figured we could handle anything for that long. This place is clean, organized, very nice. Good coffee in the morning and a bottle opener screwed right into the wall! All the paint looked fresh and the bathroom was very clean. Highly recommend.
