Fall is a great time to visit Portland, and there are an abundance of activities and festivals to check out that offer something for everyone. The Portland Nordic Motel is centrally located between downtown Portland and the Portland International Airport, and only a short drive from many popular attractions. If hiking is on your list, we are less than a half hour away from the beautiful waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge. Popular among the locals, this is a wonderful activity to check off your list during Portland’s cooler Autumn weather. There are also many beer festivals happening in the month of October all around Portland including Oktoberfest and Beer Week. If wine is your thing, then be sure to check out the Beer and Wine Expo at the Portland Expo Center on the weekend of October 21-22. Additionally, our Portland motel is conveniently located near the MAX line if you don’t feel like driving.
Sauvie Island is another popular destination for grown ups and kids alike, offering an array of exciting things to do including visiting the pumpkin patches and corn mazes. After a restful night in this Portland motel, cozy up with some hot apple cider and explore the gorgeous farming lands of Sauvie Island where so much of Portland’s fresh produce is grown. Finally, if you consider yourself more of an athlete, the Portland Marathon is also happening the first weekend of October. Make sure your shoes are tied, because you’ll be on the move with all there is to do in the vibrant city of Portland in October.
